Applicant Tracking Software Videos: Why They are Important

There are said to be at least 150 applicant tracking software vendors in the market place today. While this presents many options for buyers, it also creates a ton of confusion.  One of the things that used to frustrate me as a buyer of ATS systems was the lack of information available on most company’s websites.  Equally annoying are cliche white papers and poorly developed case studies. That’s another story.

Do you ever wonder why ATS vendors refuse to put videos and screen shots on their web pages? I have some suspicions.

When were buying a product, we like to do a little research too.  Recently, our development team was looking for a tool to monitor Newton’s performance.  We had heard of New Relic.  When we visited their site, there’s a product video on the front page. Perfect.  We got the facts.  We signed up for a free trial.  And, we’ll likely convert to a paying customer.  This is how it’s supposed to work.

One of the things that we vowed to do at Newton Software was to make information about our product readily available.  Potential buyers want answers and they want to get them on their terms.  People are used to getting information about products before talking to salespeople. That’s the way it works these days. That’s the beauty of the internet; you can research things. Here’s our latest product applicant tracking video that we published to YouTube.
